There was a point in time when a degree was more or less a sure ticket into employment. It was as if a spate of relief washed over the minds of parents when their offspring gained admission into the fields of engineering, medicine, or management.

Even the brightest brains from elite institutes such as IITs and IIMs are struggling with placements. In the days to come, it’s not titles but talents that will be more important. While education can be a door-opener, it is abilities that will follow.
