Victoria University (VU), a leading Australian university, announced the Global Mobility Program for students at the Delhi NCR campus, offering them to seamlessly pursue part of their academic journey at one of VU’s Melbourne campuses. The initiative is designed to provide students with international exposure, flexible learning options, and seamless progression in opportunities across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Ranked among the top 3% of universities globally, the University is known for the VU Block Model®, where students study one or two subjects at a time in intensive blocks rather than juggling multiple subjects simultaneously. Postgraduate students typically take two subjects over an eight-week block, while undergraduate students focus on one subject over four weeks. The model combines smaller class sizes, interactive learning and continuous assessment to deepen understanding and build practical, industry-relevant skills.
The global mobility program introduces three pathways to meet varying academic and career aspirations of students including semester exchange programmes, undergrad transfer programme to Melbourne, and UG to PG progression.
Semester Exchange Programme: Under this initiative, students enrolled in the undergraduate programs at the India campus can spend up to two academic blocks at one of VU’s Melbourne campuses while continuing to pay tuition fees at India campus rates. This option allows students to experience international education without a significant financial shift. However, students will be required to independently manage all travel formalities, accommodation arrangements, and living expenses during their stay in Australia.
Mobility (Undergraduate Transfer to Melbourne): Students who have completed one or two years of their undergraduate program in India can transfer to one of the Melbourne campuses to complete the remaining degree, under this initiative. Following the transfer, students will graduate from Australia, with tuition fees aligned to Melbourne campus rates for the remaining duration of the program.
Undergraduate to Postgraduate Progression: Under this flagship initiative, students completing their undergraduate studies at the India campus will have access to pursue postgraduate programs at one of the Melbourne campuses. This would offer a compelling pathway for high-performing students to continue their academic journey in Australia.
The Global Mobility Program reflects VU’s commitment to deliver globally integrated education in India under National Education Policy 2020, empowering students to benefit from international academic experiences. All three pathways will be governed by specific terms and conditions, such as merit-based assessments conducted by VU Australia and cap on the number of students admitted from India in each cohort.
Further strengthening accessibility, Victoria University has also introduced the VU Block Model® India Scholarship in India, offering eligible students up to Rs 3 lakh tuition fees waiver every year, for the entire duration of their course. The scholarship applies to undergraduate programmes in Business, Data Science, IT and Cyber Security, as well as postgraduate programmes such as Business Administration (Global) and Applied Information Technology. Awarded on a merit basis, the scholarship will be automatically considered for high-achieving students for the September 2026 intake.
Abhishek Sharma, Chief Operating Officer at Victoria University Delhi NCR, said, “This Global Mobility Program is designed to give students the flexibility to begin their academic journey in India and gain international exposure in Melbourne, while ensuring continuity in learning and access to globally recognized qualifications. As demand for international education grows globally, we are focused on creating pathways that are both accessible and aligned with optimal academic and career outcomes for our students. This is also a significant step in strengthening the academic bridge between India and Australia. Combining this with our unique VU Block Model® is expected to significantly improve student experience and academic outcomes for bright students from India.”
With a legacy of over 110 years in higher education, Victoria University supports nearly 52,000 students globally, delivering programmes designed to drive strong career outcomes.
