NIIT University celebrated its 16th convocation at its Neemrana campus, with 275 students graduating across BTech, BBA and integrated MBA programmes. The university announced that its Class of 2026 had achieved 100 per cent placement, continuing a record it claims to have maintained since its inception.

According to the university, more than 73 per cent of BTech students received pre-placement offers, while the integrated MBA (iMBA) batch recorded 66 per cent pre-placement offers.

BTech graduates secured placements with organisations including BigBasket, NASSCOM Foundation, Café Coffee Day, Symphony Fintech, KPMG, Thomson Reuters, EY, Medibuddy and Zebra Technologies. Students from the iMBA programme received offers from companies such as NIIT Ltd, GNE Infra, CodeYoung, ATZA and Feuji SW Solutions.

The university attributed its placement performance in part to its 12-month Industry Practice programme, which allows students to gain practical experience and work with industry professionals during their studies.

Speaking at the convocation, Amitabh Kant, Chancellor of NIIT University, highlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies on education and employment.

“Artificial intelligence and other new technologies are changing the way we learn, work and solve problems. At NIIT University, we are investing in AI and GPU labs to give students the latest technology and industry experience, helping them to turn ideas into solutions, launch startups and make a difference from day one,” Kant said.

He added that the university aims to develop innovators and entrepreneurs who can contribute to the future of technology.

Prof Prakash Gopalan, President of NIIT University, said the institution’s academic approach focuses on preparing students for professional careers while encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving.

“The 16th convocation of our university demonstrates our commitment to industry relevance and student success. NU graduates leave equipped with the abilities, knowledge and confidence to succeed in their careers,” he said.

Gopalan added that the university’s emphasis on academics, extracurricular activities and industry exposure was intended to help students develop into well-rounded professionals.

During the ceremony, the university conferred an honorary doctorate on Dr L. Venkata Subramaniam, a scientist and specialist in quantum technologies.

Amitabh Chaudhry, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Axis Bank, attended the event as the chief guest and delivered the convocation address.

The ceremony was also attended by Rajendra S. Pawar, Founder of NIIT University, and Raju Rajendran, Non-Executive Director of NIIT Ltd.

Founded by Rajendra S. Pawar and Vijay K. Thadani, NIIT University offers an academic model built around industry-linked education, technology-based learning, research and practical experience.

Located in Neemrana, Rajasthan, the university has been expanding its focus on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, alongside industry partnerships and entrepreneurship opportunities for students.
