The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially begun applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2025, with the operation form anticipated to be released soon on the sanctioned website, ctet.nic.in. The December 2025 edition of the CTET will serve as a gateway for campaigners aspiring to become preceptors in primary and upper primary seminaries across the country. The test, conducted twice a time by CBSE, remains one of the most pivotal eligibility examinations for individuals seeking to join government or private seminaries under the central and state education systems.
According to CBSE officers, the CTET 2025 (December session) announcement will include detailed information about test dates, eligibility criteria, syllabus, paper pattern, and operation freights. Campaigners will be needed to submit their operations online within the requested window once the link is actuated on the board’s functionary website. The test will be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode, following the pattern used in former editions.
The CTET examination is divided into two papers—Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is meant for campaigners who intend to educate classes 1 to 5 (primary position), while Paper II is for those aspiring to educate classes 6 to 8 (upper primary position). Aspirants who wish to be eligible for both situations can appear for both papers. Each paper carries 150 marks, and campaigners must secure at least 60 percent of the marks to qualify. Those belonging to reticent orders similar to SC, ST, and OBC admit certain relaxations in the qualifying criteria as per government morals.
CBSE has indicated that the CTET 2025 test will follow the same structure as the former editions, consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question will carry one mark, and there will be no negative marking. Paper I will test campaigners’ knowledge in subjects similar to Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (mandatory), Language II (mandatory), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper II will include Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and the chosen subject of either Mathematics and Science (for wisdom sluice preceptors) or Social Studies/Social Science (for humanities sluice preceptors).
Eligibility criteria for CTET vary depending on the position of the paper. For Paper I, campaigners must have completed their elderly secondary (or original) with at least 50 percent marks and have passed or be appearing in the final time of a two-time Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program. For Paper II, campaigners are needed to hold a bachelor’s degree along with a professional tutoring qualification, similar to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or a Parchment in Elementary Education. The detailed eligibility morals, including vittles for reticent orders and equality of qualifications, will be published in the sanctioned announcement.
The operation process for CTET 2025 will be entirely online. Campaigners will need to visit ctet.nic.in, register with introductory details, and fill out the operation form precisely. They must upload scrutinized clones of their snap and hand in the specified format and pay the examination figure through online payment modes similar to debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking. The figure structure generally differs based on the number of papers a seeker applies for and their order. For general and OBC order campaigners, the anticipated figure is around ₹ 1,000 for one paper and ₹ 1,200 for both papers. For SC, ST, and other abled campaigners, the figure is likely to be ₹ 500 for one paper and ₹ 600 for both papers.
Once the enrollment window closes, CBSE will release the admit cards for the examination many weeks before the test date. The admit card will include essential details similar to the seeker’s roll number, examination center, reporting time, and test instructions. Campaigners are advised to corroborate all the information on their admit cards and carry valid ID evidence along with it on the day of the test. Any disagreement must be reported incontinently to the CBSE helpline.
The CTET instrument, formerly attained, serves as evidence of eligibility for tutoring positions in colorful seminaries, including Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), Army Public seminaries, and seminaries combined with the CBSE and other central boards. Also, several state education departments also accept the CTET instrument for their reclamation processes. Since 2021, the validity of the CTET qualifying instrument has been extended to a continuance, meaning campaigners no longer need to regain the test many times to maintain eligibility.
The CTET plays a vital part in raising the quality and norms of preceptors entering the education system. The test assesses not only the campaigners’ subject knowledge but also their understanding of pedagogy, tutoring methodologies, and classroom operation—key chops necessary for effective tutoring and literacy.
