Indian Chapter of SAARC Journalists’ Forum to Engage in Inaugural International Mother Language Journalists’ Conference

The Indian chapter of SAARC Journalists Forum is actively participating in the first International Mother Language Journalists’ Conference being organized on 1st & 2nd June at Kathmandu with Nepal Forum for Newer Journalists. Journalists from different countries are very enthusiastic about the conference,especially those journalists who do journalism in their regional & vernacular languages, other than Hindi and English.

It is a matter of pride for us to speak at the international level in vernacular languages. Our voice & concern. Will be heard at international level, said a regional journalist with joy.

Dr. Smita Mishra, executive member of the International Committee SAARC Journalist Forum said that this is the first time that a conference is going to be organised for journalists focusing on the journalism in mother tongues and regional languages at international level.

Sudhanshu Anirudh, president of the Indianchapter of SAARC Journalists Forum said that democracy will strengthened by doing journalism in mother tongues and in regional & vernacular languages.

Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha will be the chief guest at the event. Journalists from different states of India and other SAARC countries in large numbers are expected to participated in the conference.
