India’s Fastest-growing Non-Metro Cities For Jobs In 2025: LinkedIn

Visakhapatnam, Ranchi, Vijayawada, Nashik, and Raipur have emerged as India’s fastest-growing non-metro job hubs, according to LinkedIn’s inaugural Cities on the Rise list. The professional network’s first-ever location-based ranking highlights where job creation, hiring momentum, and economic opportunity are accelerating beyond the metros.
The top 10 tier-2 and tier-3 cities—also including Rajkot, Agra, Madurai, Vadodara, and Jodhpur—are fast becoming career destinations thanks to the influx of investments in tech, pharma, and financial services. Companies such as Miracle Software (Visakhapatnam), Infosys and HCLTech (Vijayawada), Dr. Reddy’s Labs (Visakhapatnam), and HDFC Bank (Raipur, Agra, Jodhpur) are driving demand for skilled talent.
LinkedIn data reveals that business development and engineering are leading the hiring surge across these cities, with roles in sales, operations, and education also seeing growth. Government efforts like Ranchi’s smart city projects, road connectivity upgrades in Rajkot, and infrastructure development in Naya Raipur are further fueling local economic activity.
“With India’s economic shift, these cities are turning into serious career hubs,” said Nirajita Banerjee, LinkedIn Career Expert and Senior Managing Editor, India. “Opportunities are no longer restricted to big metros.”
The list comes as over 80% of Indian professionals express interest in job switches, pointing to a growing appetite for relocation and regional growth opportunities.
