Stanford University, USA has included Dr. Satyabrata Mohapatra of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University as among the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023 in the field of Applied Physics. For the fourth time in a row, his name has been included in the coveted list.

It is a matter of great pride for the University that Dr. Satyabrata Mohapatra, Associate Professor of Nanoscience & Technology of University School of Basic and Applied Sciences has been included in the elite list of World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023 with All India Rank # 99 and Global Rank # 3393 in the field of Applied Physics. Stanford University expert have recently published a list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists working in various fields. This list of World’s Top 2% Scientists is created by the Stanford University expert on the basis of indicators like citations, h-index and c-score (composite indicator for career-long impact). Elsevier has published this list of World’s Top 2% scientists excelling in different scientific fields on 4th October 2023 (https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/6).

Dr. Satyabrata Mohapatra obtained his Ph.D. from Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar, India. After a postdoc from IUAC, New Delhi, India, visiting scientist from SAINT, South Korea and visiting fellow from CSNSM, Orsay, France he joined Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India in 2008 where he is currently working as Associate Professor of Nanoscience & Technology in University School of Basic and Applied Sciences (USBAS) and is now leading the Multifunctional Nanomaterials Laboratory. He is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, India and also a Member of the Academic Council of the University. Dr. Mohapatra has published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, one book chapter and edited one book. He is an Editor of international journals NANO, Materials Open and Associate Editor of Frontiers in Nanotechnology (Nanocatalysis) and Frontiers in Chemistry (Nanoscience). He has been working as a reviewer for over 100 international journals of repute. His research is focused on the development of multifunctional hybrid nanostructures, 2D nanomaterials and metal oxide based hybrid nanostructures and nanocomposites and their ion beam engineering for applications in photocatalysis, catalysis, gas sensing, SERS, biosensing, antimicrobials and water purification.
