The Government of Jharkhand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The/Nudge Institute for launching the Indian Administrative Fellowship (IAF) in the state, and is inviting applications. This is a pioneering 18-month program that brings senior executives (CXOs/ VPs/ GMs) from the private sector together with civil servants in the Government of Jharkhand, to accelerate technology-based innovative solutions in livelihood programs.
This will be the fifth cohort of IAF in India, with The/Nudge Institute having successfully driven the fellowship with the Governments of Karnataka, Punjab and the Central Ministry of Social Justice, impacting over 18 Lakh citizens, mobilizing over Rs 1000 crores of government funding to serve marginalized communities.
This unique program is aimed at fostering a public-private collaboration that will drive large-scale impact and innovation. It involves bringing in senior corporate sector executives for a tenure of 18 months to work in close collaboration with the state’s top bureaucracy, assisting in the state’s development efforts. The selected fellows will work with 5 crucial government departments that aim to strengthen the livelihoods ecosystem – Chief Secretary (CS Office), Finance, Rural Development, Agriculture, and ST, SC, Minorities & BC.
On signing of the MoU, Hon’ble CM of Jharkhand, Shri Hemant Soren said, “The launch of the Indian Administrative Fellowship program in Jharkhand marks a significant milestone in our journey towards holistic development of the state. Our state is endowed with immense natural wealth and a resilient populace, ready to seize new opportunities.”
Vivek Sharma, Managing Director, The/Nudge IAF, said, “The goal is to create lasting scalable impact in governance through a technology-based approach, improving public services and citizens’ lives. The success of our previous cohorts with other state and central governments has given us a great deal of confidence in the power of public-private partnerships and in a systems change approach to building sustainable livelihoods in India. We’re grateful and excited to join hands with the Govt. of Jharkhand on this fellowship, and transform lives and livelihoods for millions.”
By combining cutting-edge knowledge and experience from the private sector with the scale and administrative capabilities of the government, this collaboration represents a unique opportunity to catalyze transformative change for the vulnerable communities of Jharkhand. The partnership will be a milestone event in the state’s journey as it moves towards achieving its goals towards holistic, inclusive and sustainable development of the “land of the forests”.
