Share
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has officially blazoned the PSEB Class VIII date distance of 2026, bringing clarity to scholars and parents preparing for the forthcoming board examinations. As per the approved schedule, the Punjab Board Class 8 examinations 2026 will be conducted from February 17 to February 27, 2026, across the state.
According to the board’s announcement, all examinations will be held in the morning shift, starting at 11:00 am and concluding at 2:15 pm. In a pupil-friendly move, PSEB has continued its practice of furnishing a fresh 15-minute reading time before the inception of each paper. This decision is anticipated to help scholars better understand the question paper and plan their answers effectively, especially during pivotal subjects in the PSEB Class 8 board examinations, a crucial stage in the Punjab Board test schedule 2026.
Examination Pattern and Diurnal Timings
The board has verified that the Class VIII examinations will follow an invariant schedule across all examination centers. Scholars will be needed to report to their centers well before the launch time to complete verification procedures. The fresh reading time will be rigorously for reading purposes only, and jotting during this period won’t be permitted. PSEB has advised seminaries to ensure smooth conduct of examinations by following all guidelines issued by the board.
The examinations will commence with English on February 17, setting the tone for the examination period. The board has precisely structured the schedule to allow sufficient gaps between major subjects, enabling scholars to revise and prepare without undue pressure. This balanced approach reflects PSEB’s trouble reducing test-related stress among youthful learners.
Subject-Wise Examination Schedule
Following the English paper, the first language examinations, including Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, will be held on February 19. Science is listed for February 20, followed by second language papers on February 21. Core subjects similar to mathematics and social science will take place on February 23 and February 24, independently. Sanskrit (Elementary) is slated for February 25, while Moral Education and General Awareness will be conducted on February 26.
The examination cycle will conclude on February 27 with optional and vocational subjects. These include computer science, drawing, music (oral and necessary), home science, agriculture, health and physical education, Samjhi, and disability and rehabilitation, as well as vocational courses similar to security services, tourism and hospitality, retail, and information technology and IT-enabled services. The addition of different subjects reflects the board’s emphasis on skill-grounded and holistic education.
Practical Examinations at School Level
In addition to the written examinations, the board has announced that the PSEB Class VIII practical examinations 2026 will be conducted at the academy position between February 2 and February 12, 2026. Seminaries have been instructed to schedule these practical examinations at their convenience, keeping pupil comfort in mind and ensuring that there are no subject clashes.
The board has clarified that certain subjects, such as slice and sewing and embroidery, are practical-only subjects and won’t have any written examination. This approach aligns with the nature of these subjects, which concentrate primarily on hands-on chops rather than theoretical assessment.
Special Vittles and Evaluation Guidelines
Special vittles have been made for scholars with special capacities, whose examinations will also be conducted at the academy position. PSEB has reiterated that it’ll not supply question papers for practical examinations. Rather, the responsibility of preparing question papers lies with the separate subject preceptors. Answer sheets from practical examinations will remain in the guardianship of the academy head for record-keeping and verification purposes.
To maintain translucency and timely evaluation, seminaries have been directed to upload practical test marks through the designated PSEB board operation within three days from the launch of the practical examinations. This digital process aims to streamline data submission and minimize detainments in result medication.
Other PSEB Board test schedules for 2026
Alongside the Class VIII date distance, the Punjab School Education Board has also released the examination schedules for Class X and Class XII for the academic time 2025–26. The PSEB Class X examinations will be held from March 6 to March 27, 2026, while the PSEB Class XII examinations will commence on February 17 and conclude on April 1, 2026.
Scholars are advised to download the functionary date wastes from the board’s website, pseb.ac.in, and stay streamlined with any further announcements issued by the board. With the test timetable now officially released, scholars can concentrate on structured medication and modification in the months leading up to the examinations.
