BHUB Supports Bangladeshi Students Amidst Crisis

In an act of generosity—keeping the interests and care of its foreign students in view—a decision has been taken by the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) to allow Bangladeshi students who recently completed their respective courses to continue in campus hostels. The reason behind these new decisions is said to be the ongoing turmoil in Bangladesh, which offers such students a safe haven until things get back to normal in their home country.
Speaking on this issue, Professor S V S Raju, the Coordinator of the International Centre at BHU, said that the university was committed to helping the international students. In a statement to the press, he said that the university is quite aware of the hard times that the students may have in executing their journey back home and is quite prepared to accord support and help through it. Those students wishing to stay for a while in the hostels can do so free of charge, and this will help them to release some financial pressure they might be having.
We have further assured the students that, in case they face any other difficulty during their stay on the campus, the university will take necessary measures to address that,” said Professor Raju. This assurance has proved a proactive approach of BHU towards the students’ welfare and thus making those students, who are affected by the situation in Bangladesh, feel supported and secured.
Every year BHU accepts hundreds of international students, most being natives of Bangladesh. The hostels of BHU cater to the accommodation needs of these students; moreover provide an environment that is encouraging and lively, facilitating the academic and personality development of students. As the situation develops in Bangladesh, BHU supports its students and is ready to change in any way to survive this time until normalcy returns.
