IIM Mumbai Launches One-Year Online PG Program in Financial Economics and Management

In association with the National Stock Exchange, the Indian Institute of Management has introduced a one-year online postgraduate program in Financial Economics and Management. The course is designed with a view to workforce improvement in skilled professions such as financial analysts, financial risk managers, portfolio managers, investment bankers, consultants, economists, and so on.

Program Details The program is open to all Engineering, Technology, Economics, Commerce, Management, Statistics, and Mathematics graduates, and also to industry professionals with relevant experience . Some of the critical topics it covers are accounting, investment and risk management, macroeconomic trends, managerial and behavioral concepts, analytical techniques, and financial regulations.

It a 430-450 contact hour programme on industry and economic analysis with an average of 10-12 hours per week of engagement.It includes 1-2 weeks of industry/institutional internship and immersion.The faculty of the programme are drawn from IIM Mumbai, and experts from NSE, regulatory bodies, and industry.

Eligibility and Fees The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in one or another discipline: Engineering, Technology, Economics, Commerce, Management, Mathematics, or Statistics with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories) from a recognized University/Institution in India or a qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.The total program fee is Rs. 7.5 lakhs. The initial deposit of Rs. 1 lakh needs to be paid to secure admission before the deadline, and the remaining amount of Rs. 6.5 lakhs has to be paid before the program starts.

Important Dates The registrations for the program are open till September 14.The admission test is on September 20 and personal interviews on September 29.The last date for submission of fees is October 26, and November 5 is the commencement of classes.

After the completion of the program, graduates shall be empowered with an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of interlinked financial markets, quantitative analysis, building financial models, assessing government regulations, macroeconomic challenges, and making strategic recommendations for financial investments and sustainable economic growth.
