This device, with the help of paper-based sensor strips, is capable of detecting some major parameters of the soil, including pH, electrical conductivity, nitrate, phosphate, and potassium. A farmer only needs to insert the sensor strip into the soil; after completion of just a few simple steps, it shows rapid and reliable results that can empower them to take decisions on fertilizer application, irrigation, and crop management.

The greatest benefit of Nutrisen, therefore, is inbffordability and availability. It can be compact, user-friendly, and available for all farmers. There are no more long-winded pieces of laboratory equipment or years of training rather this retiring or effective method of testing soils even from remotest rural areas. In addition, Nutrisen shall create employment by engaging rural men and women for training in order to render services in soil testing to farmers in their respective areas, thus further enhancing the socio-economic fabric of agricultural regions.

The development of Nutrisen aligns with the bigger goal of sustainable agriculture by optimizing resource use.
