Bhutani’s Teachers’ Day Celebration 2024: Honoring Educators and Strengthening Bilateral Ties

MERI Group of Institutions, in collaboration with the India Bhutan Friendship Association (IBFA), showcased a remarkable event aimed at celebrating the invaluable contributions of educators and fostering bilateral relations on 9th May, 2024. His Excellency Major General V. Namgyel, Ambassador of the Bhutan Royal Embassy, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the profound impact of educational collaborations and underlining the importance of Teacher’s Day in shaping young minds. Dr. Rajesh Mehta, Secretary General of IBFA, and Shri I.P Agarwal, founder and chairman of MERI Group of Institutions were warmly welcomed, along with other dignitaries. Highlighting the pivotal role of education in shaping the future, Dr. Mehta emphasized the significance of Teacher’s Day, shedding light on the India Bhutan Friendship Association and its role in various sectors such as the economy, hydropower, tourism, and infrastructure.

Post Dr Mehta’s word of wisdom with a vibrant Bhutani dance performance by students of Ramakrishna School, symbolizing the cultural exchange integral to such occasions. Distinguished educators were lauded for their exceptional contributions to academia, with awards bestowed upon distinguished educators like Dr. Mamta Aggarwal, recognized for her remarkable leadership in education. Prof. Durgesh Tripathi, Prof. Umesh Gupta, and Prof. Deepshikha Kalra were also honored for their dedicated service and impact in the field of education Dr. Shikha Gupta, Associate Professor and Chief Editor of “Marketing Quest,” contributed to the event’s richness by coordinating and releasing the latest volume of the magazine.

Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President MERI Group of Institutions, extended gratitude to all attendees, dignitaries, students, and educators, highlighting the significance of people-to-people interactions in fostering harmonious relationships between India and Bhutan. He underscored the importance of educational policies and the role of leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Narendra Modi in bolstering the cordial relationship between the two nations. As the event concluded, it not only celebrated the tireless efforts of educators but also symbolized the enduring friendship and collaboration between India and Bhutan.
