Jamia Millia Receives E-Vehicle for Accessibility of Differently Abled Students

Jamia Millia Islamia received a 3-wheeler electric vehicle by Yali Mobility to improve mobility of differently abled students on campus. 

 

As a part of Yali Mobility’s CSR move, Jamia Millia Islamia received a three-wheeled electric vehicle for better accessibility and easier mobility of its differently abled students. The vehicle was launched on 2nd May at Nehru Guest House. 

Yali Mobility is a Chennai-based startup which specializes in accessible vehicles. As a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, the firm donated the three-wheeled EV to facilitate students at the university.

The initiative is expected to facilitate over 200 students, according to Time of India. The Centre for Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy of JMI had a significant role in making this co-operative move come true. 

Sakthivel Thayappahn, the Director of Yali Mobility clarified this decision of collaboration with the Central University of Jamia Millia Islamia. He quoted that the university has received good ranking, has facilitated differently abled students before and is rich in heritage. 

The launch was attended by Professor Eqbal Hussain, Officiating Vice Chancellor of University and other respected faculty members.
