IIM Visakhapatnam Welcomes 2nd Cohort of Executive MBA

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Visakhapatnam welcomed participants of the second cohort to its Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme. The two-year blended EMBA programme is one of the flagship executive education offerings of IIM Visakhapatnam and stands out for its tech-centric approach, developing competencies, tackling challenges, and unlocking leadership potential.

Prof. Happy Paul, Programme Chairperson, indicated that a 25 percent increase in the batch size is a testament that the EMBA programme is being received quite well by the working professionals. Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Admission Chair, presented the profile summary of EMBA Batch 2024-26 and highlighted that the incoming batch consists of 180 working professionals from diverse sectors such as manufacturing, IT, banking, consulting, e-commerce, telecommunication, retail etc., with an average work experience of ten years. She highlighted that 28 percent of the participants were women.

In his inaugural, the chief guest, MVN Rao, Head of Corporate Learning & Development, Larsen and Toubro Ltd congratulated the participants on their wise decision to enroll in the IIMV EMBA programme and emphasised the importance of upskilling for working professionals. He highlighted the significance of stakeholder management and the necessity for strategic execution and a technologically adept, humane approach. Prof. M Chandrashekhar and Director IIM Visakhapatnam also graced the occasion.

Prof M Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam emphasised the need for professionals to continuously upskill and enhance their knowledge by actively engaging with their peers and faculty. He quoted Norman R Augustine, “There is no greater burden than true potential” and urged the participants to aspire to reach their true potential. He further articulated the importance of effectively managing relationships at the workplace and creating impact.

The programme includes 740 hours of learning and two on-campus immersion modules, each lasting five days, spread out over two years. Learners will cover a range of subjects including Marketing, Economics, Finance & Accounting, Organisational Behaviour, Information Systems, Human Resources, Strategy, Production and Operations, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Business Ethics, and Law.
