IIT Jodhpur, in collaboration with TIH iHub Drishti Foundation, is now accepting applications for admission to the part-time MTech program in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR & VR) for the session 2023-24. This program is designed to meet the demand for trained professionals in emerging AR & VR technologies. Working professionals with a B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./MCA degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. The application deadline is June 10, 2023. This program, offered by the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, IIT Jodhpur, will be the second batch of its kind.

The MTech program allows participants to pursue their studies as off-campus students, with limited on-campus immersions of up to 15 days per semester. Spanning two academic years, the program requires a minimum of 60 credits to complete. The curriculum will be taught by faculty members from various IITs and industry experts. Selection criteria may include programming and/or written tests, interviews, and other relevant factors. Prior research exposure or industry experience in AR & VR will be advantageous. Prof. Amit Bhardwaj, Course Coordinator for MTech in AR-VR at IIT Jodhpur, explained the structure of the program, highlighting the online mode of lectures and synchronous interactions between students and faculty. He also outlined the program’s goals of imparting in-depth knowledge, research skills, and the ability to develop technological solutions for AR & VR systems.

Upon completion of the program, students can expect to have a comprehensive skill set and knowledge in the field of AR/VR technologies. This includes understanding fundamental concepts, content creation, hardware design, game design, medical applications, training simulators, and more. Graduates will be equipped to analyze, design, and contribute to the advancements of AR/VR systems.
