Janki Devi Memorial College Forges Strategic Alliances for Global Learning

Janki Devi Memorial College, an A+ NAAC accredited premier women’s college of the University of Delhi, is actively fostering collaborative alliances through multiple collaborations and MoU. A delegation from Janki Devi Memorial College is currently in Tashkent, Uzbekistan wherein MoUs have been signed with Samarkand State Institute of Economics and Service and Oriental University, for academic collaborations. By actively engaging in international academic collaborations, the institute seeks to create an enriching educational environment that promotes cross-cultural understanding and empowers students for global success in an interconnected world.

Prof. Swati Pal, Principal of Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi, formalized the agreements with Dr. Aslanova Dilbar Hasanovna, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, and Prof (Dr.) Murodjon Akhmedov, Rector, Oriental University, on 8th January 2024.

Reflecting on the institute’s vision for international academic collaborations, Prof. Swati Pal, Principal, Janki Devi Memorial College, stated, “With these meaningful collaborations, we eagerly anticipate a fruitful partnership. We are thrilled to align with these ambitious institutions that are pioneering groundbreaking work and shaping the minds of the next generation. Together, I am confident that we will set new benchmarks in the realms of academics and culture, fostering stronger ties between our two nations.”

These MoUs are designed to facilitate the exchange of information and academic materials of mutual interest. Furthermore, this collaboration will promote the exchange of faculty members, administrative and research staff, visiting scholars, and students, among others.

Speaking about the MoU signing, Dr. Aslanova Dilbar Hasanovna, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Uzbekistan, said, “The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service and Janki Devi Memorial College of Delhi University is an important event in the development of international ties between the two universities. This dialogue opens new opportunities for cooperation in the field of education, science, and culture. We are confident that our cooperation will be fruitful and will contribute to the development of our universities and strengthening of ties between our countries.”

Highlighting the Institute during the MoU signing event, Prof (Dr.) Murodjon Akhmedov, Rector, Oriental University, Uzbekistan, said, “Oriental is a university that aims to be an example not only in Uzbekistan, but also in the whole world with quality education.”

Established in 1959, Janki Devi Memorial College aims to provide quality education to young women, empowering them to become economically self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the community at large. The institution has undertaken various collaborations with both national and international institutions in recent times to provide top-tier education. Notable collaborations include partnerships with Women Power Connect for a Bystander Intervention Programme, Possangipur Gaon Awam Mandir for activities related to students’ capacity building, Janki Devi Vocational Centre for an add-on course on ‘Language Course on French,’ and Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences and Research for an add-on course on ‘First Aid and Safety Measures Training (FAST).’

As the Institute continues to expand its horizons, these collaborations are poised to bring about meaningful exchanges, contributing to the holistic development of students, and enhancing the institute’s standing on the global stage. With a legacy of empowering young women and a forward-looking approach, Janki Devi Memorial College remains at the forefront of creating opportunities for academic growth and cultural enrichment.
