During a meeting on Sunday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) approved purchase proposals and pricing agreements totaling over 1,763 crore for a number of state agencies. Key ministers and top officials met in New Delhi to make final decisions on major procurement choices with the aim of boosting public services, enhancing state infrastructure, and increasing administrative machinery transparency.

Following negotiations with bidders during the meeting, prices for many goods and contracts were decided upon, which totaled over ₹10 crore in savings. Emphasizing that top on the list of priorities for his government is the prompt and high-quality project completion, the Chief Minister said. Underlining the effective financial resource management and a straightforward procurement process, he reaffirmed the Haryana government’s dedication to better public services.

Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Energy and Transportation Minister Anil Vij, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Minister Ranbir Gangwa, and Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Chaudhary were among the audience. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi was present, along with department heads and senior officials.

The purchase of 20 KVA distribution transformers, PCC poles, and LT XLPE armored cables for Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam for a total of roughly 234.19 crores was among the main authorizations at the conference. The goal is to improve the electrical infrastructure of the state. The Chief Minister ordered all electrical cables be tested in approved laboratories before being used and said he will be severe against businesses whose goods fall short of quality requirements. He emphasized the need of safety, noting that buying electrical appliances should not compromise on safety standards to ensure both longevity and security.

The chief minister underlined that this choice aims to improve the mobility of police officers so as to further law and order; the HPPC has approved the purchase of six minibuses and twenty-nine new 52-seater buses for the police force at a cost of approximately Rs 12 crore. Modern, reliable police transportation would result in faster reaction times and improved public safety.

The committee has sanctioned the provision of free sanitary napkins to female students in public schools from Class 6 to 12, thereby promoting community welfare. This program is anticipated to enhance menstrual hygiene and decrease absenteeism, ultimately benefiting numerous adolescent girls.

The conference also underscored the significance of digital transformation in governmental operations. The plan to increase cloud server and storage capabilities with an investment exceeding Rs 3.20 crore is designed to boost e-governance and transparency. According to government officials, this initiative will fortify the state’s digital framework, enable greater public access to government services, and enhance the delivery of these services.

In addition, several procurement contracts from the Department of Transport have been authorized to support the state’s efforts in improving transportation services and connectivity.

Chief Minister Saini instructed that once procurement processes receive approval, they should be expedited and urged all departments to ensure that authorized projects are completed to a high standard and within the established timelines. He stated, “The Haryana Government is dedicated to ensuring that every rupee benefits the people,” emphasizing the need for transparency.
