Over 50 Delhi Schools Receive Bomb Threats, MHA Says ‘Appear To Be A Hoax’

Over 50 schools in Delhi received bomb threats, which MHA has cleared to be a ‘hoax’ and necessary precautions are underway. 

In the national capital today, over 50 schools received a bomb threat which alarmed both students and parents. Authorities quickly acted on the matter and Delhi Police cleared multiple schools with no trace of truth to the threat. 

The Ministry of Home Affairs cleared that the threat ‘appears to be a hoax’ and that the necessary precautions are being performed. A Home Ministry official said, “There is no need to panic. Mails appear to be hoaxes. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol”.

According to Delhi police and FirstPost the schools that received threat included- Delhi Public School of Dwarka, Sanskriti School of New Delhi, Delhi’s DAV School, Sanskriti School of Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, Amity School and more. 

As per ANI, Delhi LG VK Saxena says, “Delhi police reached very quickly, and the entire area has been cordoned off and search operations are going on. Dog squads, and bomb disposal units are also working,” he further assured, “I want to assure the people of Delhi that Delhi Police is fully prepared, and we will try to prevent any untoward incident from happening. Delhi Police has found out from where these emails are coming, investigation is underway.”

As of now the investigation is underway and schools have been shut.
