CometChat Raises $6.5 Million to Expand AI Platform

Share

CometChat has raised $6.5 million in fresh funding from existing investor Run Ventures to scale its AI platform for businesses.

With this round, the company’s total funding has reached $21.1 million. The new capital will be used to build and expand its AI agent platform across sectors such as healthcare, financial services, hospitality and e-commerce.

The company said the funding comes as it shifts focus from being a communication tool to building a full AI-driven platform. Over the past year, it has already launched its AI offering and crossed 2 billion messages on its platform.

Unlike basic chatbots, the company’s AI system is designed to act on its own and reach out to customers before they raise issues. It can also run multiple AI agents together, handling tasks like billing, scheduling and customer support. The platform also tracks user preferences to personalise interactions across channels like web, SMS and messaging apps.

Speaking on the funding, co-founder and CEO Anuj Garg said the company will focus on sectors where quick response and customer engagement directly impact business outcomes. He added that the goal is to grow the AI platform and move beyond just providing communication tools.

From the investor side, Brandon Tidwell said the company has shown steady growth and early success with its AI pilots. He noted that the new funding will help speed up its expansion plans.

In the next 12 to 18 months, the company plans to scale its AI deployments, expand its enterprise sales team and focus on key sectors like healthcare and e-commerce. It also aims to convert early pilot projects into full-scale deployments.

CometChat was recently featured in Forbes’ list of top startup employers for 2026.
