Noida International University Celebrates International Women’s Day with “Aarohini – She Who Rises”

Noida International University celebrated International Women’s Day with a special event titled “Aarohini – She Who Rises,” organized by the School of Nursing in collaboration with the Cultural Committee at the Seminar Hall, SBM Building. The program honored women achievers from diverse fields and highlighted the importance of women’s leadership, empowerment, and contributions to society.
The event was attended by Chief Guest Mrs. Saavya Goel, DCP Greater Noida, who inaugurated the Handcraft Bazaar organized by the students of the School of Nursing. The bazaar showcased handmade products created by students, promoting creativity, entrepreneurship, and skill development.
The ceremony was conducted in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor, Noida International University, along with senior university officials, faculty members, and students. She also emphasized the vital role women play in leadership, education, and nation-building.
Welcoming the guests, Dr. Deepak Sethi, Dean, School of Nursing, emphasized the significance of celebrating women’s achievements and encouraging young women to take on leadership roles.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mrs. Saavya Goel encouraged women to pursue leadership opportunities with confidence and determination, highlighting the importance of resilience, courage, and empowerment in professional and personal growth.
During the event, the Red Cross Society honored Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj with a special award in recognition of her leadership and contributions.
The university also felicitated several distinguished women leaders for their achievements across different sectors. Dr. Jyoti Tokas, Director, NGMA, received the Excellence in Art and Culture Award; Col. Arti Dutt was honored with the Corporate Leadership Award in Healthcare / Social Activist Award; Chandrika Chakravorty and Anuradha Sharma were presented with the Corporate Leadership Award in the field of technology; and Pooja Srivastav received the Social Entrepreneur in Arts Award.
In addition, women deans of Noida International University were honored with leadership awards for their contributions to academic excellence and institutional development.
The program also featured cultural performances by students that celebrated the spirit, creativity, and strength of women. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony sponsored by the Red Cross Society, marking the celebration of women’s achievements.
The event provided a platform to recognize the accomplishments of women leaders and inspired students to strive for excellence and leadership in their respective fields.
