The University of Delhi has officially rolled out Phase 2 of the Common Seat Allocation System for Undergraduate Admissions (CSAS-UG) for 2025–26. Shortlisted candidates who cleared the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2025 can now move forward and indicate their college and undergraduate programme preferences using the university’s specified admission portal.
CSAS-UG admission process, initiated for smooth undergraduate seat distribution, gives students the flexibility to opt for the preference sequence of colleges and courses of study among 69 colleges of the University of Delhi. These colleges offer a total of 71,624 undergraduate seats for the session, and this is one of the largest and most competitive undergraduate admission processes in the nation.
The university has pointed out that both Phase 1 and Phase 2 registrations must be done by July 14, 2025, by 11:59 PM. Phase 1, which is technically candidate registration and CUET score verification, is followed by Phase 2, where students need to enter their college and course choices. The students who have already done the first stage of registration can now login to enter their own choices.
After the preference form is submitted, it would automatically lock on the due date—14th of July 2025. The candidates cannot change their selections after this date unless they make use of the correction window. There is a once-in-a-lifetime correction window being offered up to July 11, 2025. The candidates can modify their applications only once because the form will not remain accessible after submission. All the applicants have been requested by the university to scrutinize their options carefully before finally submitting them, as these will have a direct impact on seat allotment results.
Following the closure of preference submission, the ranks will be announced by the university on July 15, 2025. The ranks will be CUET-UG score-based and will be applied for allotting seats. Following the release of ranks, a small window from July 15 to July 16, 2025, will be offered when candidates will be permitted to modify their preferences based on their rank. This provides the students with their last chance to strategically match their choices.
The first allotment list, showing the college and course allotted to each candidate, will be published on July 19, 2025. As soon as the list is announced, candidates who have been allotted seats will be asked to accept the offer and confirm their admission within the period given by the university. If they do not do this, they may lose the allotted seat.
For Phase 2 CSAS-UG application, applicants have to access the official Delhi University admission portal at https://admission.uod.ac.in. Applicants have to log in using their registered credentials, locate the Phase 2 registration link on the homepage, and fill out the form by specifying their preferences. After filling in all the required information, applicants have to pay the application fee online. After successful submission, they have to download and keep with them a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
The CSAS-UG process this year again demonstrates the university’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and student-centered reforms. Through the use of CUET-UG scores as a standardized scale of evaluation and permitting students to make college and course preferences, the university aims to provide a fair and merit-based admissions process.
Delhi University’s administration has also instructed that all likely candidates should regularly check the official admission website to continuously look out for additional information, for instance, key announcements regarding the allocation rounds, fee payment deadline, and physical verification processes (in case of necessity). Since DU is one of India’s most popular institutions, admission into undergraduate courses is already extremely competitive, and keeping each step up-to-date is a prerequisite to make an effective application.
With hundreds of students competing for limited seats in the prestigious colleges like St. Stephen’s College, Hindu College, Miranda House, SRCC, Lady Shri Ram College, and so on, the coming couple of weeks are crucial for future applicants. With or without prioritizing humanities courses, commerce courses, science courses, or interdisciplinary courses, the applicants must make sure that their preference is both according to their knowledge interest as well as strategic interest according to their CUET-UG performance.
CSAS system, which is in its third year of operation, continues to be fine-tuned based on student and administrative feedback. Correction windows with flexibility, rank reservation-based seat holds, and a web-based central platform are designed to minimize confusion and ensure equal access to education for every Indian student.
