New Lakshya Programme Focuses On Students Facing Educational Gaps

Share

Aahwahan Foundation has launched “Lakshya,” a programme designed to support the higher education of underprivileged children. Through this initiative, the Foundation aims to mentor and empower more than 300 young people every year. Lakshya focuses on giving talented individuals the opportunities, guidance and resources they need to pursue their goals.

For many underprivileged children, it is not ability that limits their dreams but circumstance. A shortage of financial resources and access to quality education keeps many bright students from realising their potential. Lakshya was created to change that — driven by the belief that talent deserves a fair chance.

Alongside such efforts, the Government of India has introduced several schemes that support deserving students. The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) helps meritorious students from economically weaker sections at the secondary level. Other initiatives, including the Karnataka Higher Education Transformation Project and the PM-VidyaLaxmi Scheme, aim to improve access to higher education and provide financial support to students who need it most.

Speaking at the launch, Braja Kishore Pradhan, CEO and Founder of Aahwahan Foundation, said, “Lakshya is not just a programme; it is a promise to those whose talents often remain unnoticed. Every dream deserves an equal opportunity, and every gifted mind deserves guidance. Through Lakshya, we hope to walk with them, offering mentorship, resources and steady support to turn those dreams into reality. One changed life brings hope to many more, and that is the core purpose of this initiative.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Uday Garudachar (Hon. MLA, Chickpet), Dr. Pranab Mohanty (Director General of Police, Karnataka), Dr. Suchendra Prasad (Creative Director and Actor), Mr. Manjunath Babu (DCP, VVIP Security), Dr. C.A. Kishore (Chief Consultant, Shastry Ayurdhama Hospital), and Braja Kishore Pradhan of Aahwahan Foundation. Their presence reflected a shared commitment to building an inclusive environment where talent is identified, nurtured and supported.
