Sarthak Educational Trust Gets Registered on NSE Social Stock Exchange

Sarthak Educational Trust, a leading organisation dedicated to empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), takes a significant stride towards greater financial inclusion and social impact by successfully registering with the NSE Social Stock Exchange. The Social Stock Exchange, a novel initiative by National Stock Exchange is aimed at promoting investments in organizations committed to driving positive social change, has welcomed Sarthak Educational Trust into its esteemed community. This landmark achievement highlights the trust’s unwavering commitment to uplift the lives of PwDs and create a more inclusive society.

Since its inception, Sarthak has reached out to more than two million people with disabilities and successfully placed 55,000+ PwD candidates in various sectors through its free-of-cost services and programs. Sarthak’s Vision 2027 includes Empowerment of 10 Million PwDs across India, Sustainable Employment & Entrepreneurship for 0.2 Million skilled Youth with Disabilities, Expanding the CSO partner network under IDEA with 1000 partners; Supporting organizations in 50 developing countries; State-of-the-Art Global Resource Center in Gurugram and Hosting the 11th International Abilympics in India in 2027”.

With  this registration, Sarthak Educational Trust  will be able to access a platform that will connect impact investors and philanthropiists , providing them with an opportunity to invest in a cause-driven organization that champions the rights and empowerment of PwDs. Key milestones which Sarthak Educational Trust has achieved over the last 15 years of working in the disability sector in India include 50+ funding partners and 650+ partner NGOs, Sarthak is a pioneer in providing employment opportunities to Persons with Disabilities in India. Sarthak started from a single dental clinic of Dr Aggarwal in Delhi and today has presence in 20 states with 25 centers pan India. It’s Early Intervention and Inclusive Education programs have rehabilitated 3400+ and 425+ children with special needs respectively, to mainstream schools. Sarthak since inception has been providing skill training and sustainable employment to PwDs through its Job Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Training program.

The Emergence of Social Stock Exchange Concept in India is new. Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman as part of the Budget Speech for FY 2019-20 proposed the idea of an electronic fund-raising platform “Social Stock Exchange”, under the regulatory ambit of SEBI for listing social enterprises and voluntary organizations working for the realization of a social welfare objective so that they can raise capital as equity, debt or as units like a mutual fund.
