Share

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has made candidates happy by giving them more time to register for the highly anticipated IBPS Clerk 2025 hiring process. The online registration, which was initially supposed to end on August 21, 2025, will now be available until August 28, 2025. This extension under the 15th Common Recruitment Process (CRP XV) makes sure that candidates have more time to finish their applications for one of the most competitive hiring events in the banking field.

The IBPS Clerk exam is still one of the most popular ways to start a career in government-owned banks all over India. This year, the hiring event is very large, with open positions spread out by state and by bank, giving chances to thousands of candidates across the country. Uttar Pradesh has the most openings with 1,315, followed by Karnataka with 1,170, Maharashtra with 1,117, and Tamil Nadu with 894. These states show a big need for clerical workers in banks, which reflects the ongoing growth of banking services into smaller cities and rural areas as part of larger efforts to include more people in the financial system.

On the banking side, several government-owned banks have announced a large number of open positions. Canara Bank is at the top with an impressive 3,000 positions, showing the institution’s major hiring effort. Central Bank of India is next with 2,000 openings, while Bank of Baroda has announced 1,684, and Punjab National Bank has 1,150. Interestingly, some banks like Indian Bank and UCO Bank have not yet announced their exact number of openings, leaving the possibility for more announcements in the coming weeks. Overall, these numbers show how much the Indian banking system is still hiring clerical workers, highlighting the important role clerks have in handling daily tasks and helping customers at bank branches.

The requirements to be eligible for the hiring event are the same as in previous years. Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years old as of August 1, 2025. Only people born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2005, including both dates, can apply. A college degree in any subject from a recognized university is required, and being able to speak the local language of the state or union territory being applied for is also important, as clerks are often the first people customers talk to in banks.

Applications can only be submitted through the official IBPS website, ibps.in. The process involves signing up with personal information, filling out the form carefully, uploading photos, signatures, and required documents, and paying the application fee. The fee amount is the same as before, with General, OBC, and EWS candidates needing to pay ₹850, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates will pay a reduced fee of ₹175. Payment can be easily made with debit or credit cards, internet banking, IMPS, or mobile wallets. Candidates should save and print their submitted application forms to use as a reference during later parts of the hiring process.

The selection will happen in two parts: first, a simple test, then a harder test, in October and November of 2025. The first test takes an hour, has 100 multiple-choice questions, and is split into three parts: English (30 points), Math (35 points), and Logic (35 points). This early test is very important because only those who pass get to take the harder test.

The harder test lasts 160 minutes and checks more of what you know. It has 155 questions in four parts: General and Financial Knowledge (40 questions worth 50 points, taking 20 minutes), General English (40 questions for 40 points, taking 35 minutes), Logic (40 questions for 60 points, taking 35 minutes), and Math (35 questions for 50 points, taking 30 minutes). The test is worth 200 points and sees if people have the skills, knowledge, and thinking abilities to work as clerks in banks.

What makes the IBPS Clerk hiring special is not only how many jobs are open but how many people from all over the country try to get them. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people compete because they want the job security, steady pay, and chances to move up that government-owned banks offer. These clerk jobs are a starting place for new graduates in banking, often leading to promotions and better jobs later.

The choice to give people more time to apply has made many hopefuls happy, especially those who had computer problems or trouble getting papers and payments ready. Banks are growing and getting more modern, so clerks are still important for helping customers with online services, making sure things go smoothly, and teaching people about money at a basic level.

People who want to apply should finish applying well before the new deadline to avoid any problems at the last minute. As the test dates get closer, people will study harder, trying to be fast, accurate, and clear on the ideas so they can get a job at a top government-owned bank in India. For more details and news, people can check the official IBPS website.
