152 NEET UG Students Face Fraud Probe in Maharashtra

Share

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell( CET Cell) has launched a  inquiry into contended fraudulent admissions in NEET UG 2025,  relating 152 campaigners who purportedly submitted forged documents to “ block ” MBBS seats in the state’s medical  sodalities. The  exposures come amid the third round of comforting, where state and  public admission processes  cross.

Upon releasing the provisional state merit list, the CET Cell entered complaints about irregularities. A thorough review of submitted credentials led officers to flag 152 operations for suspected  phony or document mismatches. These campaigners are believed to have exploited gaps in verification protocols by uploading fake  fireside  instruments, altered marksheets, or other invalid papers. Some among them had formerly secured seats in earlier rounds, compounding the challenge for the admission process.

In response, the CET Cell has issued a formal notice via dispatch, instructing the intertwined  campaigners tore-upload their original documents or present explanations by 12 noon on October 16. Failure to misbehave could affect in immediate disqualification from the admission process.

The state authority’s move reflects growing  enterprises about seat- blocking. Some applicants, though distributed seats in other  countries or via the All India Quota( AIQ) under MCC comforting, are contended to have  contemporaneously applied in Maharashtra’s state comforting using falsified credentials. This practice, if substantiated, undermines fairness and starves meritorious campaigners of  openings.

Officers maintaining a  primary  station noted that  numerous contraventions came to light because those campaigners’ claims did n’t align with public records or internal verification checks. The CET Cell also emphasised that early admission rounds might have inadvertently allowed some unlawful allocations, but the current scrutiny is intended to correct  similar anomalies before final allotments.

Those set up shamefaced threat losing their seat allotments altogether. Also, the CET Cell has advised that legal action or farther  executive warrants could follow, depending on the  graveness of phony and intent.

This crackdown follows broader attention at the  public position to fraudulent practices in medical admissions. Before, the Enforcement Directorate uncovered an admission  chatter involving fake NRI  instruments in several private medical sodalities across India, affecting over 18,000 NEET UG and PG seats. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has pushed for tighter safeguards  similar as Aadhaar- grounded  shadowing — to check multiple seat  effects and false representations.

For Maharashtra’s applicants, the timing is critical. Round 3 comforting is underway under the CAP( Centralised Admission Process), and final seat allotments are near. Any detainments or disqualifications could shuffle the state’s seat matrix and alter the fate of  numerous  campaigners.

In parallel, the CET Cell is coordinating with the MCC’s AIQ counselling authority, given the imbrication of pupil participation across both admission aqueducts. This collaboration is especially important to help double allocations orcross-state disagreement.

As events unfold, rate lists may be revised, and seat allotments recalculated after October 16. Scholars affected by disqualification will need to recalibrate their options and respond  fleetly to stay in the race.

With public interest high and scrutiny  underpinning, the Maharashtra medical admission process is under close watch. The CET Cell’s conduct could come a precedent for stricter enforcement in other countries as medical seats grow more queried each time.
