NCERT Opens Applications For Diploma In Guidance And Counselling 2027

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has invited applications for its one-year Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling for 2027. Interested candidates can apply online through the official NCERT website until November 6, 2026.
The course is designed for teachers, teacher educators, school administrators and guidance personnel who want to develop their counselling skills. It focuses on helping teachers understand students’ academic, social, emotional and ethical concerns and support their overall development.
According to the admission notice, the programme will be conducted through a combination of distance learning, face-to-face sessions and an internship.
The first phase will involve six months of distance learning from January to June 2027. This will be followed by a three-month face-to-face programme at designated study centres from July to September. The final three months, from October to December, will be devoted to an internship in the candidate’s hometown or workplace.
Admissions will be offered at the Department of Educational Psychology and Foundations of Education (DEPFE), NCERT, New Delhi, and the Regional Institutes of Education in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru and Shillong.
Each centre will have a maximum of 50 seats. The admission notice states that preference will be given to candidates deputed by government institutions.
NCERT has also clarified that applications must be submitted online only. Forms sent directly to the department or through email will not be accepted.

The last date for submitting the online application is November 6, 2026.
