Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday reviewed the availability, printing and distribution of National Council of Educational Research and Training textbooks for the current academic session.
The meeting was attended by School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar and senior officials from the Education Ministry and NCERT.
Pradhan reviewed the preparation of upcoming NCERT textbooks and assessed stock positions across states and Union Territories. He also examined coordination between state authorities and distribution agencies to ensure books reach students on time, especially in rural areas.
Stressing that students should not face delays, the minister directed officials to strengthen supply chains, increase printing capacity where required and closely track last-mile delivery.
He also pointed to digital textbook access through e-Pathshala as a temporary support measure until physical books are delivered.
