On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recognized the instrumental role of women associated with Self Help Groups (SHGs) as a powerful force driving the development of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi shared his thoughts, stating, “लखपति दीदी योजना देशभर में महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने का एक बड़ा माध्यम बन रही है। स्वयं सहायता समूह से जुड़ी हमारी माताएं-बहनें और बेटियां विकसित भारत के निर्माण की एक मजबूत कड़ी हैं।”

The Prime Minister acknowledged the significance of the ‘लखपति दीदी योजना’ (Lakpati Didi Yojana) across the nation, hailing it as a major initiative empowering women. He highlighted the women connected with SHGs as integral contributors to the construction of a developed and prosperous India.

The ‘लखपति दीदी योजना’ focuses on the economic empowerment of women through various means, fostering financial independence and entrepreneurship.
