Final Results of Civil Services Examination 2022 Declared, Women Candidates Excel

The final results of the highly anticipated Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022 were announced today, marking a significant milestone for thousands of aspirants. The examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), serves as a gateway to prestigious positions in the Indian civil services. Here are the key highlights of the recently declared results:

A total of 11,35,697 candidates had applied for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022, out of which 5,73,735 candidates appeared for the examination held on June 5, 2022. Following the preliminary stage, 13,090 candidates qualified to appear in the Written (Main) Examination, which took place in September 2022. Finally, 2,529 candidates successfully advanced to the Personality Test stage.

Out of the talented pool, 933 candidates (613 men and 320 women) have received recommendations from the Commission for appointment to various civil services. It is noteworthy that the top four positions were secured by women candidates, showcasing their exceptional performance and breaking gender barriers in this highly competitive examination.

Topping the Civil Services Examination, 2022 is Ms. Ishita Kishore (Roll No. 5809986), who opted for Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject. A graduate in Economics (Hons.) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, Ms. Kishore has exhibited remarkable dedication and intellectual prowess.

Securing the second rank is Ms. Garima Lohia (Roll No. 1506175), a Commerce graduate from Kirorimal College, University of Delhi, with Commerce and Accountancy as her optional subject. Ms. Uma Harathi N (Roll No.1019872), a Civil Engineering graduate from IIT Hyderabad, claimed the third position with Anthropology as her optional subject. Ms. Smriti Mishra (Roll No. 0858695), a graduate in Zoology from Miranda House College, University of Delhi, stood fourth in the rankings.

Among the top 25 successful candidates, 14 are women, while 11 are men. Their educational qualifications span a range of disciplines, including Engineering, Humanities, Science, Commerce, and Medical Science, acquired from esteemed institutions such as IIT, NIT, DTU, Gauhati Medical College, University of Health Science, University of Delhi, Gujarat National Law University, Jadavpur University, and Jiwaji University.

These top achievers opted for diverse subjects in the Written (Main) Examination, including Anthropology, Commerce & Accountancy, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Law, History, Mathematics, Political Science & International Relations, Philosophy, Sociology, and Zoology.

In an inclusive move, the recommended candidates also include 41 Persons with Benchmark Disability. Among them, 14 candidates are Orthopedically Handicapped, 7 are Visually Challenged, 12 are Hearing Impaired, and 8 have Multiple Disabilities. This reinforces the commitment to equal opportunities and celebrates the abilities of differently-abled individuals.
