3rd Khelo India University Games Commence with Spectacular Inaugural Ceremony


The third Khelo India University Games kick-started on Tuesday (23 May) with great fanfare at the Indoor Stadium of the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik (SVSP) Sports Complex in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

The inauguration ceremony of the games witnessed immense enthusiasm as former Minister Mahesh Sharma, Member of Parliament Surender Nagar, and other esteemed dignitaries graced the occasion. Their presence underscored the importance of such events in nurturing and supporting young talent across the nation.

The captivating inaugural ceremony of Khelo India University Games 2023 showcased an array of talent and passion. Sarvottam International School, Greater Noida West, and Delhi World Public School delivered mesmerizing performances, setting the stage for an inspiring sports extravaganza.

The young participants from these schools mesmerized the audience with a stunning yoga performance, emphasizing the significance of physical fitness and overall well-being in everyone’s lives. A total of 15 university teams, including Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, with both women’s and men’s sections, will be participating in the competition. The games will see a total of 190 registered athletes vying for glory.

With 24 league matches scheduled, the competition will culminate on May 25, followed by the semi-finals on May 26 and the eagerly awaited finals on May 27, 2023. These thrilling encounters will determine the champions of the 3rd Khelo India University Games, showcasing the incredible talent and competitive spirit of the participating universities.
