Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), has been conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the Faculty of Dentistry (Hon. FDSRCSI) by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) at a formal conferring ceremony held in Dublin.

The honour was awarded by the Faculty of Dentistry, RCSI, in recognition of Prof. Verma’s distinguished contribution to dental education, academic leadership and higher education administration, spanning several decades. RCSI is internationally recognised as one of the leading professional institutions in healthcare and dental education.

The Fellowship was conferred during the RCSI Fellows, Members and Diplomates Conferring Ceremony, which brought together academicians, healthcare professionals and graduands from several countries.

Reacting to the honour, Prof. Verma said the Fellowship was a humbling recognition of his academic journey. “This honour from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland is deeply humbling. It reflects the collective efforts of colleagues and institutions I have been associated with over the years, and reinforces the importance of sustained academic collaboration and professional excellence in higher education,” he said.

The international recognition reflects the growing global engagement of Indian academic leadership and highlights the role of Indian universities in international professional and academic forums. The Fellowship adds to Prof. Verma’s academic profile and highlights GGSIPU’s expanding international outreach.
