The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has extended the registration deadline for the Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) 2025. Candidates interested in seeking admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes of the university can now submit their application forms up to April 11, 2025.

The extension is a relief for students who might have struggled to finish their applications prior to the previous deadline. Nevertheless, candidates are cautioned not to wait until the last minute to register, as technical issues or server crashes close to the deadline might result in unnecessary delays.

IPU CET 2025 will be held in hybrid mode from April 26 to May 18, 2025. The test is the door to entry into 46 master’s programmes, 40 PhD programmes, and 34 undergraduate programmes offered by the university and its colleges. The hybrid mode of the test enables candidates to opt for an online or offline test mode, giving them flexibility in appearing for the entrance test according to their convenience and location.

The entrance test will be held for a total of 400 marks, and two hours and thirty minutes will be provided to candidates to answer it. According to the marking scheme, four marks will be given for each correct response, whereas one mark will be penalized for each incorrect response. This negative marking strategy highlights the need for strategic answering, as candidates have to exercise caution while trying questions.

After the candidates get qualified for the entrance examination, they have to go through the counselling procedure to confirm their admission. The university will carry out the counselling procedure in online and offline modes. Seat allocation based on merit, choices, and vacancy in the corresponding courses will be done through the counselling process. Candidates need to actively take part in this phase in order to confirm their admission to the chosen courses.
