JoSAA Round 1 Deadline Today, State Counselling On

Share

Today is a crucial deadline in the national engineering admissions calendar as it marks the end of the seat acceptance period for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 Round 1. Candidates who have been assigned seats in prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) must finish the online reporting procedure by 5 p.m. today. This entails choosing one of the three available choices—Freeze, Float, or Slide—based on their desire to maintain or improve their allocation in future rounds, as well as paying the seat acceptance fee and submitting all required paperwork.

The seat allocation results for Round 1 were released by JoSAA on June 14, and since then, candidates have had a limited time to finish all procedures. There are over 18,000 seats available only in the IITs, and there are a total of over 62,000 seats up for grabs. Depending on the kind of university, the JoSAA procedure is based on the rankings from JEE Advanced and JEE Main. This round is frequently regarded as the most important since it establishes the foundation for how the remaining seats are redistributed in the following rounds. For those Round 1 applicants who have challenges with their eligibility or technical skills, the next round of seat allocation is set for June 21, with document verification and other admissions procedures continuing until June 20.

Additionally, a number of state-level engineering counseling procedures are being implemented at the same time. The MHT CET results for the PCB and PCM groups have been released in Maharashtra. The PCB findings were released on June 17, a day after the PCM results were made public on June 16. The Maharashtra State CET Cell’s centralized counseling process for admissions to engineering, pharmacy, and agricultural institutions will now be based on these findings. More than 4.2 lakh students took the MHT CET PCM tests, which were held from April 19 to May 5, including a re-examination for about 28,000 students due to technical problems. Intense competition was evident, as 31 pupils achieved a 100 percentile in the PCM group. In the PCB group, 14 students achieved a perfect percentile, one of whom was Bhakti Manish Men of Akola, who garnered national attention as one of the highest scorers in the state.

The CET Cell is currently preparing the counseling schedule for candidates who passed the MHT CET. The registration procedure, document verification, preference submission, seat allocation, and ultimate admission confirmation will all be covered by this. The whole procedure will take place online, and qualified candidates are encouraged to frequently visit the official website for updates. The procedure is anticipated to start at the end of June or beginning of July and will consist of many sessions.

Preparations for TS EAMCET 2025 counseling are currently underway in Telangana. According to an announcement by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), the counseling procedure will start in the first week of July and last through the middle of August. The TS EAMCET website will host the whole process online. Seat allocation, choice filling, certificate verification, and registration are all included. Only those who passed the TS EAMCET entrance exam will be eligible to apply. If any spots are still open after the three rounds of counseling, there will be a spot round.

Additionally, Andhra Pradesh is improving its admissions procedure for BTech courses. On June 8, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) released the findings of the AP EAMCET 2025. In the engineering stream, about 1.89 lakh candidates were eligible. The exams took place in May, and the tentative answer key was published on May 28, with objections allowed until May 30. The official EAMCET website now allows applicants to view their results and download their rank cards. The AP EAMCET counseling is expected to begin in mid-July and will be modeled after the counseling practices used in other states. Online registration, document verification, web option entry, seat allocation, and reporting to assigned institutions will be part of the procedure.

Candidates must contend with a complicated scenario of deadlines and document requirements as counseling timetables from JoSAA, MHT CET, TS EAMCET, and AP EAMCET coincide in June and July. Students who passed many examinations are now faced with the difficult task of considering their options across schools at the state and national levels. The state-level procedures vary considerably in terms of eligibility criteria, option filling, and documentation, even though the JoSAA framework is comparatively simple and centralized.

Candidates who have been assigned seats in the JoSAA Round 1 must not miss today’s 5 p.m. deadline, since failing to report or pay the seat acceptance fee will result in the cancellation of the allocated seat and disqualification from subsequent rounds. In the same vein, candidates for the TS EAMCET, AP EAMCET, and MHT CET should pay attention to official announcements, make sure their paperwork is in order, and be ready to make wise selections during the preference entry periods. As students throughout India get ready to enroll in the schools that will mold their engineering careers, the next several weeks are critical.
