The offline counseling procedure for admission to the B.Tech (Biotechnology) program at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), a top university in the nation’s capital, will begin on June 4, 2025, according to an announcement made by the university. The procedure, which will take place at the university’s Dwarka campus, represents a crucial step in the academic year, particularly for those seeking admission to the specialized biotechnology program.
GGSIPU’s engineering portfolio includes the one-of-a-kind B.Tech (Biotechnology) program. The University School of Biotechnology, which is renowned for its rigorous academic standards and research-oriented curriculum, offers it. The program, listed as number 130 in the admissions guide, receives a lot of applications annually because of its applicability in contemporary science, medical research, environmental innovation, and industrial uses. The program has a total of 60 seats available this year, according to the university’s announcement.
There are two stages to the counseling process. For candidates in the reserved categories, such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Defense category, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), the university will conduct seat allocation and document verification on June 4. Candidates from these categories who have passed the university’s Common Entrance Test (CET) are eligible to participate.
The second day of counseling, June 5, will be for candidates in the general category. Document verification and seat assignment will be conducted for those with CET scores up to 200. This gradual method guarantees that candidates from various backgrounds have an equal chance of being accepted based on merit and reservation regulations, in accordance with government recommendations.
All applicants must provide a set of necessary papers in order to take part in the counseling process. This comprises a bank draft for ₹1,89,500 payable to the “Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University,” which pays for tuition and other related costs for the academic year. In addition, students are required to bring a current birth certificate, four recent passport-size pictures, their CET rank card and admission card, and any other necessary papers to prove their identity, category, and academic qualification. The process will be completely offline, with candidates being required to be physically present at the Dwarka campus for seat confirmation and verification.
Candidates have been advised by university authorities to adhere to the schedule and have all of their paperwork ready in advance in order to prevent any last-minute hassles. The Public Relations Department has stressed that this offline counseling method provides more transparency and personalized help to candidates and their caregivers. Students will be guided through the procedure by the university’s faculty and staff.
The offline counseling for the B.Tech (Biotechnology) program demonstrates the university’s dedication to fair and efficient admissions procedures while also emphasizing the expanding significance of biotechnology as a career path in India. The demand for qualified professionals is growing as sectors like healthcare, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and environmental sciences become more dependent on advances in biotechnology. GGSIPU’s specialized biotechnology school is a popular choice among CET candidates because of its emphasis on both academic rigour and practical laboratory experience.
The official websites of the institution, www.ipu.ac.in and www.ipu.admissions.nic.in, are where candidates may get comprehensive information about the counseling procedure, including guidelines, eligibility, and paperwork. Regular updates, FAQs, and recommendations for candidates will be available on the websites to facilitate a seamless counseling experience.
Mr. Nalini Ranjan, Public Relations Officer at GGSIPU, stated at the event that the university is dedicated to maintaining a fair and effective counselling process while making sure that candidates and their families have enough assistance. He went on to say that the University School of Biotechnology is always changing with the times while upholding its reputation for academic excellence and innovation.
The university’s proactive communication and organized schedule are intended to give clarity and comfort during the admissions procedure as students and their families get ready for this important milestone in their academic path. CET rank holders are growing increasingly excited as the days pass, and many of them view GGSIPU’s B.Tech (Biotechnology) course as the path to a bright future.
