Delhi University Exceeds Seat Capacity with 75,083 Enrollments

Around up to 75,083 students have already been enrolled into various undergraduate programmes at Delhi University for the 2024–25 academic year, surpassing the 71,600 total number of available seats, reported by ANI.
According to DU Dean of Admission Haneet Gandhi, “as many as 75,083 students have secured their admission in various undergraduate courses at Delhi University for the 2024–25 academic year in first two rounds.”
Approximately 71600 seats are available in the various DU colleges.
First-year classes are presently in session, and the university has already held two rounds of admissions. On September 3, additional admission rounds will begin, including those for Performance-Based Programs and different supernumerary seats including CW, ECA, Sports, and Ward categories.
The calendar for the next rounds of undergraduate program allocations and admissions has been made public by the university.
The following round’s upgrade window will start on August 31, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., and conclude on September 1, 2024, at 4:59 p.m.
By 5:00 p.m. on September 3, 2024, the enhanced allocations as well as the first round of allocations for Sports, CW, ECA, Performance-Based Programs, and Ward Quota will be announced.
The deadline for accepting a seat allotted to a candidate is September 4, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. Colleges will then review and approve online applications; the payment deadline for fees is September 5, 2024.
Those who were not able to participate in CSAS(UG)-2024 or missed Phase II will have a mid-entry window that will open from September 7, 2024, at 5:00 pm, to September 9, 2024, at 4:59 pm.
Applicants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 1,000 in order to participate. During this time, candidates who are denied due to improper subject mapping or eligibility problems can also change their preferences.
The third round of allocations is scheduled to start on September 9, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. It is recommended that candidates review the available seat matrix and adjust their preferences in accordance with it, since this round’s cutoffs and ranks differ from those of previous rounds.
