Delhi University Financial Scheme- Over 1000 students have benefitted

New Delhi, Mar 24 More than a thousand students from poor financial background or underprivileged studying at the Delhi University are now easily pursue their career as they have received the benefit of the varsity’s fee waiver scheme so far, an official said on Friday.
Some official has mentioned that Eighty per cent of them have received full waiver of their fees, the official adding that the benefits amount to more than Rs 1 crore.
The DU one of the renounced university has announced the fee-waiver scheme in November last year. The waiver includes all components of the fees paid by the students barring those for examination and hostel.
It will provide full-time bona fide to student studying in the university is eligible to apply for it. Criteria for this scheme is that a student with annual family income less than Rs 4 lakh is eligible for up to a 100 per cent fee waiver, while students with a family income of Rs 4 lakh to Rs 8 lakh per year can apply for a 50 per cent waiver.
Not just it include fee only but waiver includes all components of the fees paid by students, barring those for examination and hostel.
University of Delhi Dean’s Pankaj Arora, said his office collected the necessary data from the deserving candidates and after due verification, which includes home visit of the applicants, the list of students for the disbursement of fee waivers was finalised.
After due verification, which includes the home visit of the applicants, we shortlisted 1,340 students and asked them to submit some documents and undertakings. We have received the documents of 1,009 and we are pleased to inform you that the list of students for the disbursement of fee waivers is finalised,” Arora said.
He said this scheme reflects the Government of India’s “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ motto.
