The NEET UG medical entrance test in Manipur has been postponed due to violent clashes and a law-and-order situation, as per The Indian Express reported.

Manipuri Education Minister and BJP MP, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, requested the NTA to postpone the exam considering the current situation. As a result, the NTA has decided to announce new dates soon.

New Exam dates will be announced once decided. In total 5751 candidates were planned to appear in Manipur’s two centres,” as per Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.

The NEET UG 2023, which will take place on May 7, has received 20,87,449 applications. Unlike JEE Main, NEET UG is an offline exam conducted once a year. However, due to the prevailing situation in Manipur, the exam centres in the state will not be holding the exam on May 7. The NTA will announce new dates for the affected candidates later.
