The establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi’s campus in Abu Dhabi was conceptualized in February 2022 under the visionary leadership of both countries. A joint initiative between IIT Delhi and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education & Knowledge (ADEK), the project aims to offer globally recognized higher education opportunities while fostering collaborations in next-generation technology, research, and innovation.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Prime Minister Modi highlighted that this venture not only signifies a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation but also serves as a platform to unite the youth of India and the UAE. The first academic program, a Masters in Energy Transition and Sustainability, kicked off in January, aligning with the shared vision of providing quality education globally.

The interaction showcased the commitment of both nations to advancing education, technology, and research, thereby strengthening the bond between India and the UAE. This pioneering initiative is poised to leave an indelible mark on the landscape of international collaboration in higher education.
