NYAI Launches AI Studio For Legal And Compliance

Share

Legal and compliance teams are increasingly using generative AI for tasks such as research, drafting and document review. NYAI is now looking to take that a step further with the launch of NYAI AI Studio, an agentic AI infrastructure platform designed specifically for law firms and legal and compliance teams within enterprises.

The company describes the platform as India’s first agentic AI infrastructure platform built for these functions. Unlike tools that focus on individual tasks, NYAI AI Studio is designed to allow AI agents to handle workflows from intake through to delivery, while organisations retain control over their data, AI models and processes.

The platform brings together data, AI agents, models, tools, workflows, organisational knowledge and governance in one environment. The idea, according to NYAI, is to allow organisations to build AI workflows around their own legal and compliance practices rather than adapting their processes to a fixed software product.

Advocate Dr. Chinmay S. Bhosale, Co-founder, NYAI, said legal and compliance teams deal with sensitive information and processes that require traceability.

“One size does not fit all in legal and compliance. Every firm has its own playbooks, every enterprise its own regulatory footprint, and every matter its own contours,” he said.

Moving beyond individual AI tasks

NYAI said the growing use of generative AI has also raised concerns around how sensitive legal and compliance data is handled across different applications.

NYAI AI Studio is designed as an infrastructure layer that can work with multiple AI models rather than tying organisations to one model. The platform integrates with Claude, GPT, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini, according to the company.

This allows organisations to select different models for different tasks while keeping organisational data within the NYAI environment, the company said.

The platform also allows legal and compliance teams to create their own AI agents and workflows. Lawyers and compliance professionals can incorporate their internal playbooks, precedents, clause libraries and escalation processes into these workflows.

A knowledge graph and organisational memory are also part of the platform, allowing it to retain matter-level and institutional context, according to NYAI.

Multiple agents can work on the same matter

The platform is not limited to individual tasks such as summarising documents, conducting research, preparing chronologies or redlining contracts.

NYAI said multiple specialised agents can work together on a single matter. For example, in an M&A due diligence exercise, different agents could classify documents, extract information, assess risks and bring the findings together into a matter-level report.

The same approach can be used for land and title due diligence, statutory compliance, regulatory monitoring and audits, the company said.

Five ways to use the platform

NYAI AI Studio offers five broad ways for organisations to deploy AI:

  • Legal tools: Research, drafting, summaries, chronologies, redlining and contract lifecycle management.
  • Compliance management: Identifying obligations, monitoring compliance, calculating penalties and maintaining audit evidence.
  • Custom agents: Building organisation-specific agents, workflows, tools and skills.
  • Off-the-shelf solutions: Ready-to-use tools for areas such as intake, due diligence and DPDP consent management.
  • Custom AI applications: Organisation-specific applications built using the platform’s agents and workflows.

The platform includes AI-agent orchestration, reusable tools and skills, workflow scheduling, a knowledge graph, model-agnostic AI orchestration, APIs and governance features such as role-based access controls, single sign-on and audit logs.

Integrations with existing legal and business tools

NYAI said the platform has more than 100 integrations, including iManage, SAP, DocuSign, Salesforce, storage platforms, email and WhatsApp.

The company said the aim is to bring AI-powered workflows into tools that legal and compliance professionals already use instead of requiring them to move to another standalone platform.

Vikrant Labde, Co-founder, NYAI, said the company’s goal is to provide an infrastructure layer for organisations building their own AI-based legal and compliance operations.

Three deployment options

Data security and residency requirements can vary between organisations, particularly for law firms and large enterprises. NYAI AI Studio is therefore being offered in three deployment models: Software as a Service (SaaS), isolated deployment on hyperscalers, and air-gapped on-premise deployment.

The company said all three options include role-based access controls, single sign-on, model evaluation and audit trails.

With the launch, NYAI is positioning AI Studio less as another standalone legal technology application and more as an underlying platform through which law firms and enterprises can build and manage their own AI-powered legal and compliance workflows.
