Information from the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) suggests that the formal notice for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 is expected to be made in the last week of July. Every year, the national-level entry exam known as CAT is administered for admission to MBA and other postgraduate management degrees provided by the IIMs and over 1,200 business schools all around India. The notice posted on the official website iimcat. ac. in will include all information on eligibility, exam format, enrollment, exam dates, application fees, and selection processes. Probably the test will be held in the final week of November 2025. Although the IIM that will run CAT 2025 has not yet been officially disclosed, it is expected to be one of the older IIMs such IIM Calcutta or IIM Bangalore. The CAT 2025 exam form is expected to remain the same as it was in the previous year. Three parts will be included in the computer-administered test: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). The total exam will be two hours; each part will take 40 minutes. Including a mix of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and non-MCQs, the overall number of questions is expected to be approximately 66. In multiple-choice questions, each correct response will probably get three points and one point will be removed for each wrong one. There will not be negative marking on non-MCQs. Candidates will not be permitted to move between sections while taking the test. Beginning in the first week of August, the registration process for CAT 2025 will probably span more than a month. Applicants could choose up to six test sites that they favor when filling out the application. Over 150 Indian cities are expected to have the test taken. The registration fee for General category candidates could slightly increase from last year’s rate of Rs 2,400; the rate for SC/ST/PwD candidates might also rise somewhat from Rs 1,200. The qualifying requirements for CAT 2025 are expected to stay constant. Candidates have a bachelor’s degree from a reputable university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD). Candidates who are in their last year of study are likewise qualified to apply if they meet the academic standards at the time of admission. The CAT is the first step in getting accepted to the 21 IIMs and other prominent business schools including FMS Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, SPJIMR Mumbai, IMT Ghaziabad, and management departments of the IITs. A high CAT score alone, however, does not guarantee acceptance. Each IIM has a different selection process that takes other criteria into account, including Class 10, 12, graduation, professional experience, gender and academic diversity, and performance in later rounds such the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). Following the announcement of the CAT, the IIMs are expected to release their individual selection criteria. While some IIMs give CAT scores more weight, others emphasize prior academic performance and profile diversity. With the growing competition for top-tier MBA programs, more than 2. 5 lakh candidates are expected to register for CAT 2025. Early preparation for the CAT exam is advised since it is commonly accepted as a pathway to the leading management schools in India and possible future leadership roles. To improve their chances of success, candidates should concentrate on time management methods, mock exams, and sectional practice. Since the official CAT 2025 announcement is expected any day now, candidates should keep checking the official website for timely updates and have all required paperwork prepared for the registration process. India’s future business leaders’ resolve, talent, and strategic thinking will once more be tested throughout this year’s CAT cycle.
