Aahwahan Foundation, in partnership with BDO Rise Pvt. Ltd., has launched its Happiness Kit Programme to support more than 10,000 underprivileged children across India with a year’s worth of essential school supplies. The initiative was inaugurated in Hyderabad, marking the start of a nationwide rollout aimed at improving educational access for children from low-income families.
The programme has been implemented in almost every major state and city, including Karnataka, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Odisha, Kerala and Punjab. In Hyderabad alone, more than 1,000 students will receive the kits this year.
Senior representatives from both organisations attended the event. Aahwahan Foundation Founder and CEO Braja Kishore Pradhan and leaders from BDO Rise addressed and encouraged the students. Each kit includes notebooks, pencils, pens, colours, geometry boxes, tiffin boxes, water bottles, school bags, sweaters and other study essentials, easing the financial burden on families and ensuring children are prepared for the full academic year.
Pradhan said the effort is rooted in a simple belief: every child deserves the basic tools to pursue their dreams. He noted that something as small as a complete study kit can improve confidence, encourage attendance and help prevent students from falling behind due to lack of materials.
The foundation plans to run the programme annually and expand it to more cities in the coming years. By ensuring children do not need to buy stationery for an entire year, the initiative aims to reduce dropouts, improve participation and strengthen long-term learning outcomes.
