The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the results of the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 01/2025. Candidates who sat for the test are now able to access their results on the official website of AFCAT, afcat.cdac.in. The test is the window of opportunity for future officers to get into the Air Force in different branches such as Flying, Ground Duty Technical, and Ground Duty Non-Technical posts.

The candidates who have passed the written test will now proceed to the interview round by the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB). This phase is important, as it decides final induction into the IAF. The selected candidates will be evaluated on several parameters, such as leadership qualities, psychological stability, and physical stamina. The final merit list will be drawn up on the basis of performance in the written test and the interview round.

The AFCAT Response Sheet and Model Answer Key have been published along with the results on the official website. The documents can be viewed by the candidates by logging in using their credentials. But these documents will be valid for only 72 hours from the date of result announcement. IAF has made it explicitly clear that no requests, RTI applications included, will be entertained after this cut-off date to release the response sheets. Candidates are thus requested to download and go through them at the earliest to evaluate their performance and clarify any doubts they have.

The AFCAT 01/2025 exam took place on 22 and 23 Feb 2025, at various examination centers all over the country. The recruitment drive is for 336 vacancies available in various branches. The job openings are available for positions in the Flying Branch, Ground Duty Technical (Aeronautical Engineering in Electronics and Mechanical disciplines), and Ground Duty Non-Technical (Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education, and Weather Services). There are also job openings under the NCC Special Entry scheme for the Flying Branch.

For shortlisted candidates who have cleared the written exam, preparing for the AFSB interview is the next step. This process is famous for its stringent selection process, involving psychological tests, group discussions, personal interviews, and physical fitness tests. The interview process assumes great importance in shortlisting a candidate for an Air Force career since it assesses mental as well as physical attributes necessary for the challenging jobs in the IAF.
