Pass Percentage Drops In CBSE Class X and XII Results

This year pass percentage have been declined for CBSE class XII, results were announced yesterday, as per reported by The Tribune.

This year’s overall pass percentage in CBSE Class X and XII results dropped by 5.38 percent compared to last year, with a pass percentage of 87.33 percent. Out of the 16.60 lakh students who took the exams, none scored a perfect 100 percent, according to the CBSE. The performance of girls in the exams surpassed that of boys.

The CBSE clarified that the pandemic did not significantly contribute to the decrease in the pass percentage. This year’s pass percentage was almost 4 percent higher than that of the 2019 offline exams. The Class XII pass percentage was 83.40 percent in 2019.

The CBSE decided not to release a merit list this year to avoid unhealthy competition among students.

In addition, the pass percentage for Class X results also slightly declined by 1.28 percent, standing at 93.12 percent, with girls outperforming boys.
