PM SHRI Review Meeting Focuses on Future-Ready Education

Review meeting of the PM SHRI Scheme was conducted in Baghpat under the chairmanship of Additional Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Shri Vipin Kumar. The review meeting was attended by key officials including Director General of School Education, Uttar Pradesh; District Magistrate, Baghpat; Chief Development Officers (CDOs); District Inspector of Schools (DIOS); and Meerut Division Basic Shiksha Adhikari along with headmasters from the PM SHRI schools.
This is a critical pivot point in future-ready education and is calling on educators to get out of the textbooks and engage learners in experiences and contexts, said Shri Kumar. These are necessary to prepare students for some fantastic global opportunities with greater confidence and competence.
He spelt out the requirement to unlearn archaic practices by teachers and administrators and adopt updated methodologies in consonance with the National Education Policy 2020. The sessions dwelled on the following: Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE); enabling availability of advanced facilities like science and computer labs, libraries, Atal Tinkering Labs, and skill labs.
It further added, the importance of continuous training for teachers, career counseling for students, and the implementation of holistic progress cards, which provides a more all-inclusive appraisal of the student’s growth and development process.
He mentioned that PM SHRI schools are an innovative setup and such models will be an example for other schools in the surroundings, and the heads of school and officials have come to share their experiences and challenges with regard to this area where they are transforming the future of excellence in the educational sector within PM SHRI schools.
This session strengthened the government’s dedication to the success of PM SHRI Scheme and improved its alignment with NEP 2020’s transformative educational goals.
