UGC NET 2025 City Intimation Slip Releasing Soon

Share

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the city intimation slip for the UGC NET June 2025 examination soon. With the examination dates fast approaching, candidates eagerly waiting to learn the city of their designated exam centres should regularly check the official website of NTA for updates. The UGC NET June session is scheduled to be held between June 25 and June 29, 2025, across the country.

The city intimation slip plays a crucial role in helping candidates make logistical arrangements in advance. Although this slip is not the admit card, it informs candidates about the city where their examination centre will be located. This early intimation enables them to plan their travel, accommodation (if required), and ensure that they reach the location well in time. This becomes particularly important for students who have been allotted exam centres outside their home cities or states.

The official UGC NET admit card, which provides specific details such as the name and address of the exam centre, the exact venue, reporting time, and shift timing, will be released a few days after the city intimation slips. Usually, the admit card is made available approximately two to three days before the date of the examination. Hence, candidates can expect the admit card to be issued between June 22 and June 24, depending on their specific exam date.

The UGC NET June 2025 examination will be conducted over multiple days, from June 25 to June 29, in two shifts each day. The first shift is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second shift will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This staggered schedule is designed to efficiently manage the large number of aspirants expected to appear for the examination across numerous subjects.

Earlier, the NTA had released the detailed subject-wise schedule for the UGC NET June 2025 session. Candidates are advised to refer to this official schedule to know the exact date of their respective subject papers. Knowing the date and shift in advance allows students to better manage their preparation strategy and also ensures that they are mentally and physically prepared for the exam day.

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a prestigious examination conducted twice a year for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the role of ‘Assistant Professor’ and for the award of ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. Conducted by the National Testing Agency, the examination spans a wide range of subjects across humanities, social sciences, commerce, computer science, environmental science, and more.

For the June 2025 session, the examination will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode across hundreds of centres in India. Candidates should ensure that they regularly visit the official website — https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in — to stay updated about important announcements such as city intimation slips, admit card release, guidelines, and exam instructions.

In preparation for the exam, candidates should also familiarize themselves with the exam day protocols. This includes understanding the reporting time mentioned in the admit card, carrying a valid government-issued photo ID along with the admit card to the exam centre, avoiding the possession of any prohibited items such as electronic gadgets, and following all COVID-19 guidelines if they are in place.

Since the city intimation slip only provides a broad idea about the exam location and not the specific venue, it is imperative that candidates download and check their admit card once it is made available by NTA. The admit card is a mandatory document and must be carried to the examination centre without fail.

Candidates are urged to keep their login credentials — such as application number and date of birth or password — ready to access both the city intimation slip and the admit card. In case of any discrepancies or issues in downloading the documents, they should contact the NTA helpdesk promptly.

With less than 10 days left before the commencement of the UGC NET June 2025 session, aspirants should now focus on revising their syllabus, taking mock tests, and finalizing travel and stay arrangements based on the information provided in the city slip. The release of the city intimation slip marks the final countdown to the examination, and candidates must stay alert and prepared to ensure a smooth exam experience.
