Among the notable achievers this year, Deepanshi Agarwal from Hyderabad has emerged as the top scorer in the CA Intermediate exam, securing an impressive 521 marks out of 600. Following closely behind her are Thota Somanadh Seshadri Naidu from Vijayawada, who scored 516 marks, and Sarthak Agrawal from Hathras, with a score of 515. These candidates have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, earning recognition in one of the most challenging professional examinations in India.

The ICAI CA exams saw a huge number of aspirants vying for a few successful positions. As per the official figures announced by ICAI, a total of 1,10,887 candidates sat for the CA Inter exam, of which 23,861 cleared it. This takes the overall pass percentage to 21.52%, indicating the tough nature of the exam and the high standards followed by ICAI in certifying future chartered accountants.

CA Intermediate exam was organized in two groups within a few days. Exams for Group I were organized on January 11, 13, and 15, whereas Group II was organized on January 17, 19, and 21, 2025. All these exams were organized in the afternoon session, i.e., from 2 pm to 5 pm. In the meantime, the CA Foundation exam was held on January 12, 16, 18, and 20, 2025. The pattern of these exams was slightly different, with Papers I and II being conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm, while Papers III and IV were conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm.

To be eligible for the CA Foundation exam, candidates must secure a minimum of 40% in every subject and an overall aggregate of not less than 50% in all four papers. Candidates who secure an overall aggregate of over 70% are given a “Pass with Distinction” status, a recognition of their excellent performance. The CA Intermediate exam has a different criterion, wherein applicants are required to clear both Groups 1 and 2 individually. Candidates are required to obtain at least 150 marks in each section out of 300 to be declared successful.

For those eager to see their results, it is quite easy. They simply have to go to the ICAI official result website at https://icai.nic.in, click on the suitable result link for either CA Inter or CA Foundation, and enter their login credentials to view their scorecards. The release of results is a momentous event in the journey of those vying to become chartered accountants. The CA exams, which are famous for their rigorous syllabus and tough paper pattern, require single-minded commitment, perseverance, and thorough conceptual grasp on the part of the aspirants. Students study for months, if not years, for these exams, taking up coaching courses and investing long hours studying by themselves to achieve success.

Her outstanding result in the examination has emphasized the need for focused hard work and intelligent preparation. Similarly, success stories of Thota Somanadh Seshadri Naidu and Sarthak Agrawal portray the competitive atmosphere and high expectation that characterize the CA qualification journey.

The ICAI CA qualification is still the most prestigious and coveted title in the financial and business industries. Chartered accountants are vital to auditing, taxation, financial planning, and corporate governance, and the profession is indispensable to the country’s economic infrastructure. The demanding examination process ensures that only the best and most capable individuals get to be called Chartered Accountants.

As the candidates proceed, those who have cleared the Foundation exam will now start preparing for the Intermediate level, while those who have cleared the Intermediate exam will target the final phase of the CA journey. Candidates who failed to clear the exams this time will get another chance to appear in the next session, knowing their mistakes and improving their preparation strategy.

The ICAI’s announcement today has brought joy and excitement to thousands of students and their families. As the newly qualified candidates celebrate their success, they also step into a challenging and rewarding profession that holds immense opportunities in the fields of accounting, finance, and corporate advisory. With each passing year, the ICAI continues to uphold its legacy of producing highly skilled professionals who contribute significantly to India’s economic and financial landscape.
