Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) will present its highly awaited 24th Annual Cultural Festival, “Anugoonj 25,” at its Dwarka campus from February 24. This colorful three-day extravaganza will be on till February 26, featuring a fusion of cultural experiences, musical performances, and artistic expressions, making it a notable milestone in the life of the university.

The festival will be opened on February 24 by a prestigious list of dignitaries, including well-known actor Binda Dara Singh, actress Ishita Chauhan, actor Rohit Chaudhary, and Dr. Madhav Kaushik, President of Sahitya Akademi. Their attendance at the opening ceremony underlines the significance of the event in fostering cultural exchange and artistic expression.

Addressing on the occasion, Prof. Manpreet Kaur Kang, Director of Directorate of Student Welfare, informed that students from both the campuses of the university as well as from participants of about 110 affiliated institutes are going to present their talent. This is the scale of the festival and it makes it one of the biggest cultural events in the region. More than 50 cultural and music events will be held during the festival, combining a wide range of performances and exhibitions that capture the diverse cultural fabric of India.

The festival will be a platform for young and up-and-coming talent as well as established artists. Events dedicated to cartooning and storytelling have been added to the festival this year. The new events are intended to bring in more diverse students and fans, further diversifying the festival’s events and making it even more welcoming for participants from diverse creative fields.

Apart from the range of competitive events, the festival will also include a series of Star Nights, with leading musical acts performing on stage each night. On the inaugural night, an EDM band will lead the charge with a lively performance, followed by Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma on February 25 and young playback singer Mohammad Irfan on February 26. These acts are likely to mesmerize viewers and contribute to the celebratory mood of the event.

IP University Vice-Chancellor, Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, spoke about his enthusiasm for the festival, highlighting the university’s efforts in promoting creativity and cultural connection through the same. “We want to let the resonance of Anugoonj reach far and wide,” he said, highlighting the university’s efforts in giving students a platform for self-expression and artistic experimentation.

The cultural festival is a yearly tradition that not only showcases the IP University students’ talent but also acts as a bridge for cooperation and interaction among students from around the city and wider vicinity. It also provides a special chance for the students to network, engage with influencers in the entertainment and cultural sectors, and get exposed to all kinds of influences in culture.

This year’s festival theme, together with the addition of new events, should provide some new ideas and energy to the stage. It is not merely a celebration of the performing arts but of all the various creative disciplines that prosper within the community of the university.

As preparations for “Anugoonj 25” are in full swing, the buzz around the festival is electric. The festival is set to be an unforgettable experience for students, teachers, and visitors alike, as it celebrates the university’s continued focus on developing talent, creativity, and cultural expression in all its aspects.

This year’s Anugoonj is going to be one for the books, breaking new records in student participation, cultural exchange, and artistic brilliance. As the countdown starts, the university is all set to welcome the thrill of this grand cultural fest.
