Share

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has launched an International Visiting Student Program (IVSP) for PhD students, aimed at providing them with opportunities to study and conduct research in leading universities and research institutions around the world.

Under the program, PhD students from BHU can apply for short-term visits to partner institutions overseas, where they can attend courses, participate in research projects, and collaborate with faculty and students from other countries.

The IVSP is open to PhD students in all fields of study, including science, engineering, social sciences, humanities, and management. The program is designed to give students exposure to different academic and research cultures, enhance their research skills, and help them build international networks.

Speaking about the launch of the program, BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar said, “The International Visiting Student Program is an exciting opportunity for our PhD students to engage with the global academic community, learn from leading scholars in their fields, and develop a truly international perspective on their research. We are confident that this program will help our students become more competitive and successful in their academic careers.”

BHU has already established partnerships with several leading universities and research institutions around the world, including the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Harvard University, and the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, among others. These partnerships will allow BHU students to access cutting-edge research facilities and collaborate with renowned scholars in their fields.

To apply for the IVSP, students must submit a research proposal and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor, along with their academic transcripts and other supporting documents. The program is highly competitive, with only a limited number of slots available each year.

The launch of the IVSP is expected to enhance the international profile of BHU and provide its students with new opportunities to learn, grow, and excel in their academic and research pursuits.
