NTA Clarifies Cut-Off Date for SC/ST Category Eligibility for NEET UG 2023 Exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a clarification regarding the cut-off date for the SC/ST certificate in the NEET UG 2023 exam.

The NTA stated that no cut-off date has been stipulated for the SC/ST certificate in favor of concerned candidates, in reference to the NEET UG 2023 exam. The official notification issued by the NTA is available on the official website neet.nta.nic.in.

The Information Bulletin for NEET (UG) – 2023 has been amended accordingly, and Para (1) and Para (2) of Appendix-XB in the Information Bulletin have also been updated. The NTA clarified that the SC/ST certificate format given in Appendix-XA and the online application form for NEET UG 2023 do not have any cut-off date applicable.

In other news, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bharati Pravin Pawar, informed Parliament that there has been a 97% increase in MBBS seats. The seats have increased from 51,348 before 2014 to 101,043 as of now, with 52,778 seats available in government medical colleges and the remaining 48,265 seats available in private medical colleges.

Furthermore, the Department of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh, announced the addition of 1,300 new MBBS seats in medical colleges run by the state government. The department also stated that 13 new medical colleges will begin from the academic year 2023-24.
